All posts for the month July, 2012

As mentioned on their Twitter feed ( @PEIBrew ), PEI Brewing Company’s Gahan 1772 IPA is now available at select ANBL stores in New Brunswick.  The brew is currently available in Greater Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton area stores.

In other related news, their Twitter feed also mentions that they have their applications in to get their Gahan Ales and Beach Chair Lager onto the shelves in Nova Scotia although it doesn’t specify if it is NSLC locations or the Private liquor stores.  I’ll update as more information is available.

VIP ticket packages for the second annual Prince Edward Island BeerFest go on sale today at 10am. The VIP package includes tickets for both Thursday, September 6th and Friday, September 7th tasting sessions and includes Patio Party access, a souvenir PEI BeerFest mug (for the first 50) and allows ticket holders 30 minutes earlier access to tasting.  Tickets can be purchased online and cost $89.75 plus tax.

Regular tickets for the Thursday ($42.75 plus tax) and Friday ($47.75) sessions will go on sale July 20th at 10 am.

Additional information about the event can be found on the event’s Facebook page and their Twitter account ( @peibeerfest ).

Yesterday’s Chronicle Herald included the story of a new brewpub, the Townhouse, that has opened up in Antigonish.  The article describes how owners Rose Murphy and Terry Piercey took creative approaches to raise money to start the business and also references the great community support they have received  and the help Kevin Keefe of Granite Brewery has provided.

The new brewpub has a blog that includes information related to their unique SUDS Club and a Facebook page.  I haven’t been able to track down any specifics related to the beers that are offered by the latest addition to the Atlantic brewing scene but will post more information as it is available.

Special thanks to @cmallaley for sending me a link to the story on Twitter.
