The list of beers for this year’s Halifax Seaport BeerFest is now available on the event’s website.  A total of 213 beverages will be available including 5 gluten-free beer, 8 ciders, 37 from Maritime breweries, 45 from Quebec, 42 from Ontario, 4 from Western Canada, 4 from national breweries, 25 from the US and 43 international brews.

Garrison Brewing Co., Hell Bay Brewing, Moosehead Brewery, PEI Brewing Co., Picaroons Brewery, Pump House Brewery (tentative), Rockbottom Brewpub and Rogues Roost are the Maritime breweries scheduled to participate.

See the event’s website for ticket information, a special offer for designated drivers and the benefits for volunteering at the event.

Version 3.0 of the legendary Hop Mess Monster will be available at Hart & Thistle Tuesday, July 24th at 5pm.  The brew was created using monstrous amounts of hops ( over 23lbs / barrel).  The beer is described as:

The world’s hoppiest beer: thick with essential hop oils, juicy, fruity, dirty, sweaty, intensely hoppy and sexy just the way we like ’em!

As mentioned on Picaroons Pub website and Canadian Beer News, Picaroons will be releasing a special edition “Plaid to the Bone” Heather Ale.  The brew was created specifically for the upcoming New Brunswick Highland Games Festival and the name was chosen as a result of a contest won by Emily Moller.

The brew was made with real Heather tips and flowers and will be launched in Cask form at the Lunar Rogue Tuesday, July 24th.  The beer will also be available throughout the week at the Brewtique and at the festival itself.
