Get your Garrison Spruce Beer while you still can

As recently tweeted by Garrison Brewing Company, they currently have well under 100 bottles of their Spruce Beer left at their brewery.  There has been a lot of buzz about this beer, including a recent story in the Toronto Star.  Here’s what the PEI Beer Guy thought about it when he tried it last year with a great quote from his wife.

In related news, and in the interest of full disclosure I must admit I’ve been sitting on, is that the brew is also currently available at some ANBL locations.  They only reason I’ve delayed mentioning it is that there wasn’t any in stock at my local store and wanted to make sure I had some for myself before letting anyone else know about it (I know a couple from Pennsylvania that will be glad to hear this)!  Here’s an overview of current availability as of yesterday morning based on the ANBL website:

Rockbottom Brewpub releasing Tippy Mao Feng Pin Cask this Saturday at noon

What happens when you mix the world’s second and third most popular beverages (tea and beer)?  Find out this Saturday as Greg Nash’s latest creation dubbed Tippy Mao Feng Pin Cask is available at Rockbottom Brewpub.  They’ll be cracking a pin (which is about 21 litres) of cask ale which is made up of their Deadwood Wheat beer infused with Yunnan Tippy Mao Feng Black Tea.

Check out the second link above to get a 101 of brewer measuring terminology.  Impress your friends by throwing in terms like “kilderkins”, “puncheons”, “hogshead” and “butts” next time you discuss beer quantities.

Picaroons and Brewbakers teaming up to host a Beer & Chocolate Dinner

Picaroons and Brewbakers in Fredericton are teaming up to host an evening of fine dining and fine beer.  The event will take place Thursday, February 16th (how’s this for a great Valentine’s gift?) with only 30 seats available for the event.  Tickets are going for $38 each and are available at the Picaroons Brewtique.
