For those of you who have tickets to the sold-out Brewer’s Bash in Fredericton this Saturday, here’s a list of the Atlantic Canadian beers that should be available for your drinking pleasure…

• New Brunswick:

– Acadie-Broue – La Bringue (American Brown Ale)

– Big Tide – Seaworthy IPA, Karnival Kölsch, and possibly their Benedict Arnold ESB

– Grimross – Cheval D’Or, and their new Destrier Farmhouse Stout

– Picaroons – all of their regular-release beers, plus possibly their new East India Porter

– Pump House – Premium Lager and Blueberry Ale

– Shiretown – Blonde du Quai

• Newfoundland:

– Quidi Vidi – Iceberg Beer and British IPA

• Nova Scotia:

– Big Spruce – Kitchen Party Pale Ale, Cereal Killer Oatmeal Stout, and Regatta Red

– Garrison Brewing – Hop Yard, Irish Red, Nit Wit, Citra One-Hop, and Raspberry Wheat

– Granite Brewery – Peculiar, Ringwood, Honey Ginger, Keefe’s Irish Stout, Old Cardinal, and Hopping Mad

– Hell Bay – English Ale

– Propeller – Bohemian Pilsner, ESB, Honey Wheat, IPA, and London Style Porter

– Rock Bottom – Fathom IPA and Rookie American Mild

Note: Unfortunately, Bridge Brewing from Halifax will NOT be at the festival. Owner Peter Burbridge has said that due to high demand for their beers in Halifax, they will not have the time to attend. Hopefully, next time!

Update: Looks like Sea Level Brewing will also NOT be coming to the festival due to selling out of their beer this past week. Like Bridge Brewing, we look forward to seeing them at the next beer festival, whenever that may be!

• Prince Edward Island:

– PEI Brewing Co – 1772 IPA, Iron Bridge (formerly Iron Horse), Sir John A’s Honey Wheat, Island Red, Beach Chair Lager, and Blueberry Ale

The Atlantic Beer Festival is taking place at the Moncton Coliseum this Saturday. There are two sessions: 2:30-5pm, and 7:30-10pm. Tickets are available at the Coliseum Box Office, The Pump House Brewery or BarnYard BBQ, and online at tickets.moncton.ca. The evening session is sold out, however there are lots of tickets still available for the afternoon session. The Beer Fest is partnering with the SPCA and United Way.

Exact details on the beers and breweries are not published online (check the Times & Transcript on Thursday for a full list), but I give you some highlights from the organizers and brewers I’ve contacted.

– Fresh off a CBA medal earlier this month, Acadie-Broue will be there with their Gaboteuse Belgian IPA. However, it will only be at the Afternoon Session, that’s worth buying a ticket for the session alone!

– Shiretown from Charlo, NB will be there, pouring their Blonde du Quai, Big Brown Ale and a one off RodDog’s Amber Ale. Also only there for the afternoon session, I see a trend!

– Le Troue du Diable from Shawinagan, QC will be returning, with a pair of beers, that are always hits with the craft beer fans.

– Local (and almost local) breweries Pump House, Picaroons, Big Tide, Garrison and Propeller will also be there, with some special casks and one-off beers that will not be available anywhere else.

– There will be a Maine pavillion, showcasing a over dozen beer that are not available at the ANBL.

We will post the final beer list as soon as it’s available. We expect to see over 140 beers, 30% of which are new offerings not usually available in NB. Some will be launched at the Fest, so this will be your first chance to try them.

In addition to the beer, there will be food vendors (pretzels!), with a BBQ/Smoking station set up with pulled pork and sausages. There will be music by Carey Beck and the 60 LPs. Free shuttle buses leave from the Coliseum to various spots around the city (Downtown, Riverview, etc), so be sure to take advantage and don’t drink and drive!

There is a VIP option at each of the sessions: you will start at the Pump House Brewpub, and meet your guide for the session, Mirella Amato. She is the only Master Cicerone[TM] in Canada, and will be helping folks get the most out of the Beer Festival. After some appetizers and a limo ride to the Coliseum, Mirella will bring you in the VIP entrance and then spend some time tasting some of the great beer available. She will highlight a few of the best beers, do a guided tasting at several of the difference booths, and assist you in hunting down the best beers for your favourites styles. In last week’s Friday Wrap-Up, we had a brief post about another upcoming beer festival in Fredericton – the “Brewer’s Bash“, hosted by Picaroons, will feature 60 Canadian breweries and 300 beers on Saturday, July 13th. The event will run from 11:00 am – 11: 00 pm in Officer’s Square; tickets went on sale today for $25. If this wasn’t enough to convince you to attend the event, we now have some more information to share, thanks to Dennis Goodwin, Marketing Director for Picaroons.

The $25 will get you a bracelet that allows admission and re-entry into the festival all day. There will be lots of food options IN the festival, if you choose not to leave. The ticket price includes a 4-oz tasting glass and 6-8 drink tickets that are good for one pour each. After that, you are welcome to buy as many additional drink tickets as you’d like to sample more beers… these will run in the “one-dollar range”. They also plan to have some live bands playing towards the end of the festival.
